SUMMARY:Dental Phobia: It’s Real
DESCRIPTION:Almost 30% of world populations have different degree of dental phobia including children and adult. It can lead to avoidance behaviour which contributes to perpetuating fear and anxiety of dental care. Previous literatures revealed that patients with dental phobia have high incidence of dental problem including dental caries and periodontal problem. Understanding and assessing level of dental phobia is important for delivering successful dental care. Several assessment tools are available to investigate the level of dental phobia\, thus allow clinician to determine the appropriate treatment modalities for the patients. However\, non-pharmacological behaviour management and pharmacological intervention have their own merits and limitations. \nThis webinar will discuss on: \n\nOverview and prevalence of dental phobia among children and adult\nFactors contributing to dental phobia\nImplication of dental phobia to oral health\nMethods of managing dental phobia in a clinical setting\n\nClick here for the flyer\nClick here for registration
